Camera-ready Format

The following details relate to the submission of the final copy of your paper. Please follow these instructions carefully. Due to tight deadlines for printing the proceedings, please ensure that the final copy of your paper is formatted to the exact requirements given below.

The final paper should be a specially formatted PDF file. To achieve this you should download the final formatting style files (available as a zip file or a Tar gzipped file).

  1. Make the modifications required in the review and reformat your paper using the LaTeX BMVC 2003 final class file. Microsoft word is not supported.
  2. Create a Postscript version of your paper using dvips (don't forget to set the paper size to A4).
  3. Download the our Printer's job options file for Adobe Distiller and install it appropriately. Distill the Postscript file to produce a special format PDF file.
  4. Upload your file using the BMVC 2003 Conference Administration Website.

If you do not have access to Adobe Acrobat/Distiller then please submit the Postscript version of your paper that uses outline Postscript Type 1 font and has all fonts embedded (including the standard Base 35 and Base 14). We will do our best to contact you if there is a failure distilling your file but we prefer you to take responsibility for this yourself because the printing deadlines are tight.

The Distiller job options file is set to terminate if there are font errors. You may alter it to provide warnings but please be aware that the warning will mean that our printer will then perform font substitution. A useful tip is to preview your PDF on a different machine to that which created it using the Acrobat View Local Fonts option. You may also want to use a commercial PDF parser such as Flightcheck.

The printed copy of the proceedings will not include any colour plates. Any colour images present in your document will be converted to greyscale (so please ensure the fidelity of any converted colour images). However the CDROM accompanying the conference will allow colour PDF.

By submitting a paper to BMVC2002, the authors warrant that neither it nor any related paper with essentially the same technical content has been submitted to any other conference.

Review Format

Papers should be no longer than 10 pages including all figures, references, appendices and so on. You are strongly encouraged to use the latest BMVC LaTeX class file (which you can download as a zip archive or as a gzipped tar file). If you are using an old version of LaTeX then you should upgrade because will be unable to use the class files from other conferences (SIGGRAPH for example). However if you are desperate then the old style files are available from the previous BMVC website.

There is also a Word format document but this is acceptable only for the review copy.

All papers must be anonymous so you must either refer to your own work in the third person or eliminate references to your own work.

Submission

You must submit papers via the BMVA Conference Administration Website (CAWS). The preferred format for submissions is PDF.
