The UEA Computational Biology Laboratory (CBL) was established in 2004. CBL promotes an integrative philosophy to computational biology, with areas of research spanning the biological heirarchy from genome through to ecosystem.

In addition to carrying out high quality research with national and international partners, CBL aims to develop computational biology across the Norwich Research Park (NRP). NRP represents Europe's largest and most successful single site concentration of research and development in the areas of plants, food, diet & health, the environment, and information systems. Members of CBL collaborate closely with scientists from NRP institutions such as the School of Biological Sciences, the School of Environmental Sciences, the John Innes Centre, the Institute of Food Research and the Sainsbury Laboratory.

CBL provides an interdisciplinary environment for research and education, with speciality in the computational and mathematical sciences. Areas of research include protein structure, computational biology of RNA, phylogenetics, models of biological development, and computational systems biology.

General enquires concerning CBL should be directed to Professor Vincent Moulton.
